APPENDIX

Required information for the Approval Drawings (Seismic and/or Wind Calculations):

Equipment:

  • Equipment drawings including all dimension (not required for suspended equipment)
  • Equipment weight: Corner weights are required otherwise total weight will be distributed evenly
  • Location of the equipment (1st floor, roof, etc.).
  • Hanging locations for suspended equipment: If they are more than 2 or 4 points
  • Structure Type: Floor, Ceiling and walls (Concrete, Metal Decking, Structural Steel, etc.)
  • The size of the equipment base (Rail, Flat at the bottom, etc.), if it’s applicable.

Piping/Ductwork:

  • Construction drawings or the latest set of drawings showing all sizes
  • Trapezed or single hung for piping
  • Coordination drawings for the vertical piping/ductwork in the mechanical room
  • Determining the area that ductwork/piping is supported using vibration isolators (if there is any)
  • Details of the duct supports (c/w all dimension) if the duct is floor/roof mounted
  • Locations and details of flex connectors (if there is any)
  • Sheet Metal Thickness for the ductwork (if it’s not 18 ga)

Spring Hangers for Piping/Ductwork:

  • Plan and elevation drawings (or 3D drawings) showing all drops and risers
  • Hanging location is a must to calculate the weight at the hanging point for spring selection
